About the Artist

About Marcel

A lot of my work is inspired by my love of nature and the great outdoors. My parents immigrated to Canada from Holland when I was 4 and had a great appreciation of hiking and exploring British Columbia. I also enjoy hiking, biking, boating and exploring off the beaten path. I collect driftwood on my adventures and appreciate the raw textures of wood that has been exposed to the elements.

I have a background in Graphic Design and spent 5 years in art school where I dabbled in some fine art such as painting and also enjoy photography. I love gardening, landscaping and the animals on our hobby farm in my spare time.

I have been a self employed artisan for over 25 years and am very grateful to do things I’m passionate about…..
